TOPIC

We will have a Senior Economist from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston to discuss the economic conditions in New England.  He will provide some insight on the current conditions, as well as, some recent trends throughout the region.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Osborne Jackson is a senior economist with the New England Public Policy Center at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.  His research focuses on labor economics and urban and regional economics, with particular interest in immigration, discrimination, education, and crime.  His work has covered topics such as the impact of immigration on native college enrollment and how discrimination might operate on the supply side of the labor market.  He has also given presentations at various academic meetings, including annual conferences of the American Economic Association and the Society of Labor Economists.  Before joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in 2015, he was an assistant professor of economics at Northeastern University.  He earned his AB in Economics from Harvard University and his MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan.
